Introduction to healthcare informatics prepares students for the many challenges of practicing in the health technology era while striving to improve patient care at all levels. The student will study the principles and tools used in health informatics, such as the electronic health record, clinical informatics, information systems, principles of interoperability, machine learning, artificial intelligence systems, electronic security, ethics, and legal considerations. This course is on-line and will incur an additional fee.
